So I’m obviously into writing, film, and travel, but I thought I’d list some more specific areas of interest for me, and particular “themes” I like to explore in my work and life:

Globalization and Travel: Vanishing cultures, vanishing ecosystems, cross-cultural encounters

Gender Politics: Sexual violence and harassment, gender equality, LGBT rights

Nature: Wildlife, geography, landscape, maps, and the interaction of humankind and the natural world

Folklore and Mythology: The otherworldly, the supernatural, and the mythic in popular culture — particularly in constructing a sense of identity for a group or nation

Film: Pretty much ANYTHING having to do with cinema.  The representation of any of the above in movies and television.

Yep, indeed, I am a bleeding-heart liberal.  It’s fine, I admit it!
